South African addition

We are pleased to advise that with effect from the 1st of March, Salvo Cutino has joined Harris Pye DMCC, Dubai, as the group’s Business Development Manager.  Salvo has worked for two of the largest shipyards in South Africa and has over 38 years’ experience in the ship repair, modification, upgrade, fabrication and new build marine markets. He also has extensive experience in the offshore rig repair market, been involved in most of the recent large repair and upgrade SPS projects in South Africa.


He has a sound knowledge of project management, contract management, planning and general management.  Over the past 25 years Salvo has been involved in the commercial management aspects of the shipyard business responsible for tenders, sales, contract negotiation, business development and customer regulations.  He is a Founding Member of South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA) and an Associate of the South African Institute of Marine Engineers & Naval Architects.  He has served as Vice Chairmen of the South African Association of Ship Builders & Ship Repairers and currently serves as a member for the SAOGA Task Team in the development of the regional O&G Industry.


Salvo’s initial focus will be to expand Harris Pye’s existing client base and to introduce the group to the contacts and relationships he has developed over the years.
