Job Description


The group is actively seeking to recruit the following personnel :

Supervisor – Ship Repair, Worldwide

Key Responsibilities

  • Experienced personnel offering a full and comprehensive world-wide inspection and reporting service for industrial and marine boiler plants, turbines, steam chests, valves etc. using state-of-the-art inspection equipment and procedures
  • Able to lead a team to build up PIPE SYSTEMS including installation and Fitups for a Scrubber Plant
  • Able to read Isometric Drawings
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Remnant Life Assessment
  • Fibre Optic Inspection
  • Non-Destructive Testing
  • Replicate Testing
  • Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging.
  • Oxide Thickness.
  • Reports & Inspections

Key Accountabilities

  • Work in conjunction with technical Co-ordinator (s)
  • Monitor incoming enquiries and messages
  • Co-ordinate and carry out technical inspections (worldwide)
  • “Trouble shoot” clients technical issues/machinery failures
  • Produce technical reports
  • Customer liaison/client visits
  • Estimate and quote projects
  • Monitor on-going projects and liaise with repair managers
  • Interact with global stations technically/financially
  • Liaise with HR regarding labour selection and transport
  • Liaise with QA regarding material control and any class issues
  • Liaise with purchasing for procurement of materials
  • Liaise with stores for the tooling up of projects and produce tool lists
  • Liaise with workshop for fabrication of materials and produce work shop managers production sheets and prepare manufacturing drawings
  • Monitor job costs and control
  • Collate data/costs for invoicing and pass to accounts
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required
  • Ensuring adherence to all company polices & procedures
  • To identify system weaknesses and suggest new / efficient procedures to strengthen it
  • Promote health and safety and ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound engineering background
  • Extensive education and training supported by relevant engineering and management qualifications
  • N.C Engineering.
  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship. .
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Build good, professional relationships with all staff.
  • Good organizational skills
  • A good standard of attention to detail

  • You may be required to drive any of the company vehicles as and when requested (i.e. to collect/take any parts/equipment to various company and client sites…) therefore, valid license must be held at all times

Marine and Offshore experience is MANDATORY.

Due to the mandatory requirements of the marine and oil and gas industries the candidates must be physically fit and prepared to undertake industry specific safety training and medical examinations.
