Job Description


The group is actively seeking to recruit the following personnel for their Llandow, UK office:

Electrical Project Manager

Job Purpose

  • To provide, plan and co-ordinate a comprehensive electrical service, carried out by the companies own employees, to all aspects of the companies operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • To organise and manage the electrical department as necessary, from receipt of tenders to the completion of final accounts
  • To ensure sub-contractors are supervised and their standard of work is acceptable and in compliance with recognised safety practices and specifications
  • To control and effectively manage departments operations through regular site visits as necessary, in order to assess progress, safety and quality, and to give instruction and advice
  • To liaise with departmental staff, clients, contractors and suppliers in matters relating to work
  • To attend meetings, training workshops and other work related issues, as required , which may involve working outside normal hours
  • To liaise with specialists and consultants to obtain assistance and advice
  • To supervise staff including allocation and control of work
  • To prepare method statements in conjunction with Safety officer
  • To liaise with Safety Officer in arranging safety inspections
  • To check and authorise orders and invoices, ensuring correct procedures are followed
  • To liaise with Human Resources in matters relating to development and training courses for electrical staff
  • To attend management meetings as required
  • To undertake specific projects and prepare reports for the Technical Director as required
  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems
  • Undertake any additional duties as and when required by the line manager/business
  • Ensuring adherence to all company policies & procedures.
  • Promote health and safety and ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures
  • To identify system weaknesses and suggest new/efficient procedures to strengthen it

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous experience within a management/leadership role essential
  • Possess the ability to organise and direct electrical and associated staff, determining priorities to maximise the use of resources in achieving prescribed objectives
  • Show excellent knowledge and understanding of both marine and land based electrical systems, procedures and legislation
  • Ability to ensure that labour, materials, plant and equipment are used effectively and efficiently
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Good organisational skills
  • Relevant qualifications
  • A professional attitude and good communication skills are essential as the role requires regular interaction with all staff and third party inspection authorities

This position will be based at the company’ Llandow facility in South Wales, United Kingdom.
