Harris Pye is currently looking for a Group Senior Accountant for our office in JLT, Dubai, UAE.

Job Purpose:

    • Improve the Financial Reporting process for the group
    • Ensure all Finance Teams complete the necessary accounting, financial administration and financial analysis tools
    • Manage the process of the local audit activities- and maintain compliance will all local and
    • international statutory and regulatory requirements
    • Key Group Finance contact for the Group

Key Accountabilities:

    • Fulfill the requirements of the Chief Financial Officer
    • Develop and strong working relationship with the team around the Group
    • Ensuring all stations across the Group has access to Finance and are clear who the key contacts are;
    • Ensuring all Financial accounting and reporting conforms to Finance best practices;
    • Ensuring all deadlines are met (both internal and external)
    • Bring to light any concerns or red flags within Finance as soon as discovered

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

    • Proven work experience as a Financial Reporting Accountant
    • Has worked in Finance teams or departments previously across multiple geographies
    • Ability to review existing processes and controls and make improvements where required
    • Can develop new processes and controls consistent with industry best practices where required
    • Expertise in MS Office Suite Excel with ability to create concise, efficient, and accurate models
    • Hands on experience with financial and statistical software
    • Familiarity of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP), familiarity with Navision a plus
    • Up to date with accounting standards and best practices
      Excellent analytical skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
    • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
    • Demonstrate strategic thinking skills
    • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
    • History of developing strong working relationships with colleagues in Finance

Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Preparing and presenting up to date, accurate and timely financial information for month end and year end closing processes
      • Prepare and consolidate weekly consolidated cashflow forecast for the whole group based on input from the stations
      • Manage other periodic reporting tasks, while sticking to the agreed timelines with quality output
      • Manage end to end books of group cost centre and various dormant entities
      • Directly support the GFC in managing the Financial Reporting function for the Group
      • Manage the relationship with the Regions HP Finance Team
      • Work with the Finance Managers to ensure all reporting and ad hoc tasks are completed to a high standard and are being correctly prioritized

Transactional:

      • Support the GFC in ensuring accuracy of all general ledger transactional and accounting entries for the Group
      • Ensure the Group maintains accurate accounting records that are compliant with IFRS and applicable GAAP

Periodic:

      • Utilize the financial systems and tools available
      • Maintain accounting controls at all times
      • Preparation of budgets and forecast for the Group + Support the FM’s with this task
      • Provide support in financial audits for the Group as a group resource, for queries/ requests
      • Provide financial information to Senior Management including GFC in the form of reports, presentations or financial statements
      • Own the weekly cash forecast process for the Group. Discuss with GFC before CFO review

Month End:

      • Provide assistance to the GFC in managing the month and year end financial account closures for the Group
      • Ensure all accounting and reporting tasks are completed by the deadlines set
      • Approved key general ledger reconciliations at a Group Level
      • Review analysis performed account balances and challenge discrepancies to budget/forecast
      • Consolidate regional results and present to the GFC
      • Help prepare and submit the MIS and MBR reports for the Group and GFC review
      • Reconcile plus own the intercompany process across the group
      • Perform a daily tracker of inflows and outflows of cash across the group
      • Keep accurate and up to date records of Group Finance related matters i.e. banking, balance sheet, reconciliations etc.
