The group is actively seeking to recruit the following personnel for their Navi Mumbai office, India:

Thermal Design Engineer

Job Purpose

  • Conduct thermal analysis and design of mechanical systems, interpret and analyze existing designs, prepare engineering studies, undertake cost estimates and follow internal design specifications and procedures in response to unique external and internal requests.
  • Efficiently establish specifications and undertake product selection, complete vendor design reviews and provide recommendations relating to boilers, heat recovery steam generators, waste heat recovery units and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Front end engineering design, detailed design, commissioning and operations
  • Saturated and superheated water tube boiler design and analysis
  • Multi pressure HRSG design and analysis
  • Waste heat recovery unit design and analysis
  • Steam plant associated equipment design and analysis
  • Heat exchanger design and specification
  • Natural and forced circulation analysis
  • Boiler and HRSG dynamic analysis, inspection and report writing
  • On site assistance during start-up and commissioning
  • Simulating heat behavior and analyzing data to anticipate thermal performance and provide recommendations
  • Review of all technical project specification, mechanical datasheets, process datasheets, plot plan layouts/drawings, P&I diagrams, applicable codes and standards received from clients
  • Heat and mass balance calculation, thermal and mechanical design, casing/piping insulation thickness calculation and Pressure drop calculation check of static equipment as per client/project requirement
  • Selection of material of construction as per project specification or international codes and standard
  • Coordinate with client for tender related technical discussion, clarification and deviations during preorder stage
  • Shall Involve in post order work and technical support to project execution team till the completion of project
  • Review or Preparation of technical specification for bought out items to get proper technical quotations from sub suppliers
  • Technical evaluations of quotation from sub suppliers and bought out item vendors
  • Review or preparation of final technical document includes all clarifications, deviations, equipment datasheets etc. during bid submission
  • Work on post order work activities like performance run calculation, preparation of equipment datasheets and technical support to other engineering departments and project execution team
  • Participation in HAZOP meeting with client during project execution
  • Take part in product standardization and optimization activities

Key skills/knowledge/experience

  • Bachelor degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in thermal or process design
  • Knowledge of design standards and codes including ASME & BS EN
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Extensive experience with thermal design of shell and tube heat exchangers and air coolers (HTRI)
  • Extensive experience with boiler, HRSG and WHRU thermal design (PPSD)
  • Experience with shell and tube heat exchanger mechanical design (Code Calc, PV Elite)
  • Proficiency in the use of advanced analysis tools and method (AutoCAD)
  • Experience with boilers, fired heaters, flares, WHRU
  • Experience with ASME, API, TEMA, NACE, ANSI standards
  • Specialist and detailed knowledge of various equipment like boilers, HRSG, WHRU, heat exchangers etc
  • Knowledgeable in fluid flow and heat transfer principles
  • Knowledge of application and specification of materials
  • Design of complex process and utility systems
  • Knowledge of burner technology and flue gas cleaning/pollution reduction technologies and their impact on boiler performance
  • Ability to design and assess balance of plant equipment performance
  • Adhere to a project schedule, ensuring quality, accuracy and efficiency of the work being performed
  • Accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks
  • Good team player with good organization skills and communication ability
