Overview

The group is actively seeking to recruit the following personnel for their DMCC office, Dubai, UAE:

Marine Engineer

Responsible for:

Responsible for specific projects and should be capable of estimating the labour and materials required for tendered work, based on ship surveys and client supplied specifications, as well as overseeing the work on site, you will ensure that they are able to reach their key objectives which include, but are not limited to the following

Job Purpose:

  • Although the position is office based, majority of our clients are in the Marine Industry and consequently overseas travel will be required
  • You will be required to assist the contracts Managers, Repair Managers, etc., based at this branch office and work with them to quote and obtain work from our client base
  • Extensive marketing and client visits will also be required
  • To take inquiries from clients (verbal or written) and to carry out site surveys if necessary, this may require extensive travel when the contract is abroad
  • To estimate and prepare a quotation for the specified contract
  • From time to time you will be set other objectives as defined by senior management with the objective of growth for the division
  • Operate and monitor all plant and equipment safely
  • Maintain up to date records of work carried out on
  • Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment is met
  • Deliver exceptional service to the customer at all times

Key accountabilities:

Conduct analytical, environmental, operational, or performance studies in order to develop designs for products, such as marine engines, equipment, and structures.

  • Design review and approval of technical documents
  • Follow up of engineering within designated area of responsibility 
    Participate in contract negotiations with clients
  • Prepare technical specifications for systems/ packages within
  • Designated area of responsibility
  • Participate in meetings with clients

  • Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience software skills
  • AutoCAD
