Job Description

The group is actively seeking to recruit the following personnel for their Navi Mumbai office, India:

An Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer  with extensive experience in organisation and in preparation of electrical and instrumentation and automation deliverables, calculation reports and specifications, datasheets, IO list, control and automation philosophy.

We are seeking a candidate with a Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation/Automation or equivalent recognised engineering qualification.

Primary responsibilities include but not be limited to:

  • To design the electrical and instrumentation system products as per project requirements in compliance with all applicable and relevant legislation, standards and codes
  • To liaise with Classification Society or/and Regulations Authority to ensure the safety & integrity of design
  • To prepare formal responses and clarifications to comments from Clients Subcontractors and Classification Societies on the drawings, calculation reports and specifications
  • To recommend and follow up all quality assurance and safety factors/requirements applicable to the design
  • To identify and prepare specifications/datasheets for instruments, electrical systems, control system and equipment datasheet related to project scope
  • To advise Project managers on the E&I aspect as per project tasks
  • To perform inspections and site surveys as requested and support commission activities
  • To provide assistance to maintain Company’s ISO certification as related to engineering design
  • To execute additional tasks not listed here above but necessary to the Company depending on needs

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Instrumentation/Automation or equivalent
  • 5+ years of previous experience in the Power/shipbuilding/ marine / offshore sector
  • Proven knowledge and working experience in all aspects of automation and control systems
  • Experienced and competent user of Electrical and automation software tools
  • Good working knowledge of the principles of boiler and support system operations and their control
  • Knowledge and ability to carry out fault investigation, defect repair, calibration and overhaul of pneumatic and electronic instrumentation and control equipment including; pressure, temperature, flow, level, gas analysis, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
  • Ability to review, prepare and determine detailed documentation, recommendations and requirements for P&ID, Function design specification, control philosophy of system loops, Equipment supply specification and equipment datasheet, cable schedule, IO list, Operation and main manual
  • Able to produce 2D / 3D drawings using CAD software
  • Experienced in basic and detail engineering design of E&I aspects, has basic interdisciplinary knowledge
  • Well versed with International Standards, Classification Society rules and regulations for Vessels, Offshore structures & Drilling Units
