Harris Pye’s New Product Division supplies and installs environmentally friendly, efficient systems such as deck boilers, low sulphur technology (LDSO), ballast water systems, exhaust gas scrubbing and heat exchangers.  In doing so, Harris Pye helps ensure that its clients meet the highest standards for low environmental impact.

Deck Boilers

Intended primarily for use on FPSO, FSO and other marine installations, deck boilers can be easily adapted for use wherever there is a requirement for power and/or process steam.  They are designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME 1/ABS design codes and are available fully assembled or flat packed.

Ballast Water Treatment

Harris Pye offers both planning and system selection for Ballast Water Treatment. This is designed to give vessel owners an objective overview of the costs and work scope involved in fitting the most suitable system to each vessel before making a decision on which treatment manufacturer to select.

Exhaust Gas Scrubbing

We are particularly active in the vital area of low sulphur diesel oil (LSDO) conversions as required by Marpol (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Annex VI, which sets limits on NOx and SOx emissions from ship exhausts.

We have undertaken work on some 130 ships on behalf of almost 40 clients such as Teekay Shipping, Shell, Campbell Shipping, and many others. The conversion is offered as a turnkey package.

Low Sulphur Technology

Specially designed components such as pumps, filters, burner tips and flame eyes are required to ensure efficient, safe and reliable operation of the boilers. To this end, our LST proposal is based on adding an LSDO fuel system parallel to the HFO system to the vessel allowing the operator to change over fuel mediums safely and efficiently.

HP Economiser Range

The 'HP' Economiser range is specifically designed to recover the waste heat contained within boiler exhaust gases and to transfer as much of this energy as is practically possible to the incoming boiler feed water stream by pre-heating it prior to its entry into the boiler.

The design and construction of the HP Economiser high efficiency heat exchanger lends itself to installation into most boiler exhaust gas outlet ducts.  HP high efficiency tube banks are purpose-designed units constructed from selected finned steel tubing manufactured on Harris Pye's own specialised in-house "Spiral" and "H" type tube finning machines.
