At Harris Pye we believe that companies should do more than just pay lip service to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).  We believe that businesses must connect their successes with social progress.  Shared value (SV) is more than SR or philanthropy – it’s at the centre of our group’s values and effects all that we do.  We take the long-term view that by investing in the societies in which we are located, we are not just helping them in the immediate future – we are also helping Harris Pye in the long term, through the ready availability of a highly educated, skilled workforce.

As an example, although we have always funded graduate and undergraduate programmes, in 2012 we became the first UK company to work with the Brazilian government and Swansea University (Wales) to facilitate the placement of Brazilian students in Wales. Through the Brazilian Government’s Science Without Borders initiative, we are training Brazilian students on 3 month placements in our bases throughout the world, so that they have the best possible hands-on training.  We hope that when they finalise their university courses, they will consider employment with Harris Pye.
