Harris Pye Opens New Office in India

The Harris Pye Engineering Group is a rapidly expanding global organisation with active involvement in many key marine, oil and gas, offshore and industrial sectors. Operating worldwide on a 24/7 basis, our emphasis is on cost effective repair, preventative maintenance and conversion work. Over the past 10 years, the Group has successfully developed a range of services to the offshore oil industry which include in situ repair, upgrade and conversion of rigs, semi-submersibles, trading tankers, FSU, FSO, FPSO and FSRU units. Harris Pye is a multi-cultural global service provider with a focus on supplying top quality products and fast and efficient customer service.

In December 2015 Harris Pye opened it’s 16th office globally, it’s expansive reach now includes India. This office has two key functions: to act as a design support office to Harris Pye Engineering Group in Dubai as well as serve a recruitment role to cater to the extensive engineering requirements worldwide. The central location makes it easy for employees to mobilise to international projects at any given moment.

The office is located in Navi Mumbai, also known as New Bombay – a key business district for the country. The office permanently houses 11 design engineers who have specialised in structural, piping and mechanical faculties helping cater to the Group’s extensive design requirements. 78 technicians were mobilised from this office to a major project in Brazil, with another 15 to follow. In addition to this, 36 technicians have recently been contracted to another of Harris Pye’s key projects based in Miami, USA.

The Group strategically selected Navi Mumbai for its proximity and convenience of access to surrounding major oil, gas and marine markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. Harris Pye Engineering provides a number of unique surveys, repairs, upgrades and conversion solutions to these regions, a number of which fellow competitors do not have the capacity to undertake.

The official opening ceremony of the Group’s Indian office will take place in conjunction with the Institute of Marine Engineers, India  where a presentation on ballast water treatment systems will feature. Harris Pye Engineering specialise in offering a turnkey retrofit installation of ballast water treatment systems in existing vessels – either whilst in service or whilst in the shipyard. It is believed that this service will be particularly useful in surrounding regions where there are strict quarantine restrictions.”
